Why SIUC Journalism?
SoJ students produce magazines, websites, and a newspaper, all filled with examples from every specialization. We are dedicated to providing our diverse student community with state-of-the art educational resources to foster critical thinking, research skills, and hands-on production experience. The award winning student newspaper, the Daily Egyptian, and its web site, siuDE.com boast an independent operation that pays student workers an hourly wage as they gain experience in
The Daily Egyptian is one of very few college newspapers to own an offset printing press. In addition to the DE, more and more SoJ students are landing paid internships in professional media. Students with degrees in journalism work in careers as varied as the specializations. |
