Britni Woodworth, a senior from West Frankfort, IL, who is minoring in Journalism (Art major), received a Bronze ADDY for her magazine advertisement "Get High" for Taipei, Taiwan.
Kelsey Marlow, a senior from Ina, IL,who is majoring in Advertising, received a Bronze ADDY for her magazine campaign "Cross" for Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris; Prof. Linda Conway Correll's Copywriting class teamed with Dr. Bruce Mims' Southeast Missouri State radio production class to produce a Bronze
ADDY-winning radio commercial for St. Jude's Hospital; and Prof. Narayanan Iyer's Advertising majors, AAF team members Erin Koelkebeck, a senior from Champaign, IL, graduate Nathan Brendal of Fairfield, IL, Jenna Smith, a senior from Aburn, GA, Karyn Graham, a senior from Jerseyville, IL, and Cole Singleton, a senior from O'Fallon, IL., received a bronze AADY for their AAF Plans Book in the Brochure category.
" I was told by the former president of the local AAF Chapter, Tri-State Advertising and Marketing Professionals, that the student advertising and professional advertising entries were judged together by category," Prof. Correll observed. "I was delighted to learn that our students are doing professional-level work."
The three-tied ADDY Awards competition is the largest advertising competition in the world, with 50,000 to 60,000 entries annually. Local Gold and Silver ADDY Award Winners can enter their work the District level ADDY competition, and District winners are eligible for national honors.
