The Cache River watershed is a unique area of Southern Illinois that is comprised of the Shawnee hills, swamps, bottomland forests, and a meandering river. It is home to migratory birds and waterfowl and has abundant wetland life. Small towns rich in Illinois history are also hidden among the swampland.
